Recipe #3- 2/18/13 Tasty Trail Mix 

Ingredients: 1/2 cup of dried apricots, 1/2 cup of dried cherries, 1/2 cup of unsalted soybeans, 1 cup of healthy nuts.

1. After measuring all ingredients mix all of them together in a plastic bag or container

2. Now go for a hike or long walk and enjoy and trail mix that will take you to the top of the mountain!

This is an easy and very powerful snack. The nuts give the body healthy fats that are broken down and used for  energy later on. The dried fruit adds sweetness and texture to the mix. They also contain natural sugar which the body will use for immediate energy. The soybeans may not have the best taste but will refill your muscles with energy from the protein they contain. For a long day hike this snack with water will take you far and not let you down on taste or energy, enjoy!
